John Russell reportedly on trial with Doncaster Rovers

Sligo Rovers midfielder John Russell is believed to be in England on trial with nPower Championship side Doncaster Rovers. Considered one of the league's best midfielders, John helped Rovers to a cup double this season as well as a 3rd place finish with many outstanding performances. Joining Rovers in May of this year, the announcement of his signing excited many supporters having known what he is capable of having played against Rovers while with Galway United. The 25 year old has also been capped at many levels for Republic of Ireland, these include U-18,U-19 and U-21.

Russell isn't the only player believed to be on trial with 'The Vikings', Bohemians' midfielder Paul Keegan and Shamrock Rovers and former Northern Ireland international goalkeeper Alan Mannus are also reported to be on trial with the club.
