In this weeks poll you voted Will Hastie and Michael Betts as Sligo Rovers Greatest Centre-Midfielders of All-Time. First off we'll take a look at Will Hastie, the Australian born midfielder who played for Rovers in the early 90's and was a hugely popular figure during his time here.

Will joined Sligo Rovers in 1993 from SPL side Kilmarnock, he was signed by Willie McStay. Will proved to be a key signing in the clubs treble winning season, he was a hard tackling midfielder and won nearly every ball he went in for.

He was always one of the most outstanding players that season, and he will be best remembered for the FAI Cup Final victory over Derry City in 1994 when his ball winning abilities truly showed as The Bit O' Red had to fight to hold onto their lead.

Will left Rovers after playing his part in the club's historic season and returned to Australia. As stated earlier in this piece, and was a firm favourite in The Showgrounds and being voted into the All-Time XI shows he still is today.

Will currently works with PFA (Professional Footballers Australia) as a delegate. He will be the donning the Red & White jersey once again this August when he plays in Gerry Carr's Testimonial Match against Manchester United legends.
