Following one of the most successful campaigns in the history of Sligo Rovers, the club are delighted that Cook has agreed to stay on for two years, with an optional extra year, in search of more silverware with the Bit o’ Red in the coming seasons.
Cook has led Rovers to success in the EA Sports and FAI Cup finals as well as qualification for the Europa League twice in a memorable three and a half year period with the club so far.
Sligo Rovers chairman Dermot Kelly said: “It’s a huge thing for the club to get Paul to sign a new deal. We feel it is a statement of intent by Sligo Rovers that we want more trophies and more success at The Showgrounds.
“It‘s a boost when you consider we had to hold off rumblings interest from other clubs in Paul. We feel he is the best coach in the league and that obviously sits in our style of play of playing good football. It’s fantastic for the relationship we have with him.
