Sligo Rovers draw Monaghan United in FAI Cup

Sligo Rovers have drawn Monaghan United in the the last 16 Round of the FAI Cup.

Rovers have a recent Cup History with Mons, having played them twice last September. First, in the FAI Cup Quarter Final en route to the Aviva Stadium, it was a convincing 3-0 victory with Romauld Boco, Alan Keane from the penalty spot and Mark McGoldrick all scoring.

They met a week later back in the Showgrounds for the EA Sports Cup Final, Matthew Blinkhorn was the hero on the night as his 14th minute goal was enough to win Rovers the Cup.

Mons will be looking to put it right, and they have been in good form this season under Roddy Collins. One man who's really stood out above the rest has been Declan O'Brien who has been banging in the goals since he arrived at Gortakeegan this season.

The Match will be played on the week ending the 28th August.
