Sligo Rovers draw Pike Rovers in Cup

Sligo Rovers begin the defence of their FAI Cup against Non-League side Pike Rovers.

Although a less anticipated battle of the Rovers (They happen to wear Green and White and are nicknamed the 'Hoops' though), this Limerick side shouldn't be taken for granted, having enjoyed success at their own level in recent times. They are the current Munster Champions and reached the Final of the FAI Junior Cup.

This will of course be The Bit O' Red's first defence of the Cup since winning it in the Aviva Stadium last November, and as shown against Cockhill Celtic in the EA Sports Cup, they won't field a weaked team against any opposition.

The tie will take place on the week ending 5th June.
